Let’s clear something up: Leadership is not a title—it’s about having the right leadership mindset.
As John C. Maxwell has said…
“Leadership is influence – nothing more, nothing less.”
Emerging leaders often ask me, “How can I lead when I’m not in charge?” The answer? You lead right where you are—by influencing, not by instructing. We can lead down the organizational chart, across to our peers, and even up the org chart, so don’t limit yourself, or the true scope of your influence! People need you!
True leadership is about showing up with consistency, integrity, and intention.
You don’t need positional power to:
- Speak life into others
- Bring clarity where there is confusion
- Model emotional intelligence under pressure
- Ask the hard (but necessary) questions
- Carry the culture others only talk about
If you’re waiting for a title to start leading, you’ll be missing the point entirely.
💡 Here’s your challenge this week: Pick one area of your team’s work that could use more clarity or energy—then take initiative. Lead the conversation. Offer a solution. Lead by example.
Because the truth is, leaders aren’t born or appointed. They’re revealed when the room needs someone to step up, and they choose to.
So, keep leading empowered, and continue to fight for the highest possible good of yourself and others!
