There’s no shortage of leadership advice. Books tell us what great leaders do. Podcasts give us frameworks. Social media gives us an endless stream of tips, habits, and strategies. But this week, I’ve been reflecting on a different question: what are the real leadership challenges we face today?

Are we spending enough time listening to what leaders actually need?

Leadership rarely happens under ideal conditions. It happens when you’re short-staffed, facing a difficult conversation, trying to keep good people, managing competing priorities, making decisions without all the information, or carrying responsibilities that few people around you fully understand.

Sometimes the challenge isn’t knowing what good leadership looks like. It’s figuring out how to practice it when the pressure is real. That’s why I want to hear from you.

I’ve created a short Leadership Pulse Survey to better understand the challenges leaders are experiencing right now. I want to know what’s frustrating you. What you’re wrestling with. What kind of support would actually help. What leadership problem you’d most like to solve in the next 90 days.

And one question I’m especially interested in: What do you wish someone had taught you about leadership – but didn’t?

I’m not asking because I’ve already decided what leaders need and simply want confirmation. I’m asking because I want to listen first. Your responses will help influence future Lead Empowered resources, coaching, programs, and conversations.
